LACMA was executive produced by Ben Bourgeois. Lighting by Bright Ideas. This
was the grand opening celebration of the new wing of the museum. MSA provided
the video work on it. Eight 15K Christie Digital projectors were projecting on the tent’s
inter white surface. 3 Camera shoot with Grass valley sub switch to Folsom output to
screens. We interfaced video rolls about the museum, graphic treatments, then live
video magnification once the performance and dedication started. The reveal was started by a flying stage with William Joesph playing his recording of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir”. Once stage touched the floor and started back up 148′ wall of material dropped to reveal to the audience the new wing.
LACMA’s Resnick Pavillion opening again executive produced by Ben Bourgeois and
Lighting by Bright Ideas. The team was assembled again. This time catalyst was used
with 20 Projectors extensive edge blended and keystone correction on the ceiling of a
free span tent. The end gables were 4 16k projectors, edge blended. Side screens for video magnification were 2 10k projectors. Full motion video, and graphics images were incorporated in the playback imagery. The finally was a full animation firework show with the side of the tent dropping to reveal Christina Aguilera concert enhanced with a four camera shoot.
